We’re the most experienced Behavior Vets in Colorado and we’re here to help

What is a Behavior Vet?

Behavior Vets are specially trained veterinarians dedicated to treating behavior problems and improving the well-being of animals – and we’re a rare breed, with less than 150 of us worldwide. We are the psychiatrists of the animal world, and we wouldn’t want to do anything else. We can legally diagnose behavior disorders, assess medical components of behavior, and prescribe medications when needed to support behavior modification and training.

We have the most experienced Board-Certified Veterinary Behaviorist in Colorado. In fact, our Veterinary Behaviorist trains the Veterinary Behaviorists of the future by mentoring residents, designing course curriculum, and creating and hosting education events for other veterinary professionals. In Colorado and across the USA, we are the go-to resource for all things behavior for both pet owners and other professionals.

What is a Behavior Consultant?

Behavior consultants are advanced trainers who have extensive experience working with severe behavior disorders. Ours have extensive education in ethology (scientific knowledge of species-specific behavior), welfare, and applied behavior analysis. A behavior consultant’s job is to create customized behavior modification plans for each animal/human family in order to reduce household stress and build new, healthy behavior patterns. If a behavior vet is like a psychiatrist, a behavior consultant is like a psychologist or therapist.
