How long will it take for my prescription to be called into my pharmacy?

Refill requests are processed by Behavior Vets within 7 business days. 

What if I want a paper prescription?

You may opt to have a paper prescription mailed to you for a fee, or you may make an appointment to pick up a paper prescription from your Behavior Vets clinic at no charge. Refill requests for mailed paper prescriptions are processed within 7 days. Please allow for additional delivery time with USPS. 

What is your policy for approving medication refills?

We must see you and your pet in person at least once every 12 months in order to refill your behavior medications. Your provider may require more frequent progress exams. We need to know that the current prescriptions are effective and your pet is healthy before authorizing refills. If we haven’t seen your pet in person within the past 10 months, please schedule a recheck appointment so that we can continue treatment.

What if I need my prescription refill processed in less than 7 days?

We are able to process your refill request with urgency, by request. Simply indicate on your refill form that you want expedited processing. Prescriptions requested with less than 7 business days notice will incur an additional urgent fee. Urgent refills are processed at no charge for clients with an active Concierge subscription.

What pharmacies can I use to get my pet’s prescription?

Due to an enhancement in recent technology, we are now able to send electronic prescriptions to both pet and human pharmacies.  Here is a list of our most commonly utilized pharmacies.
