Enroll in Concierge

While Concierge is the best option for most pets, including pets starting on their journey with us, pets who are feeling better and whose families are happy with progress may feel ready to book appointments as a standalone service.

A la carte: Clients are billed individually for every procedure, medication, test, or consultation their pet receives.

Following your Initial Consult, Progress Exams can occur at a frequency you and your doctor agree upon, minimally once every three months.

A la Carte services are stand alone. They do not include communication with the medical team between appointments, 24/7 triage, or any of the other additional benefits and discounts offered in our Concierge Plans. These are most appropriate for pets who have been with the service for at least 3 months and are steadily improving.

BEHAVIOR VETS 4 VETS

The Behavior Vets 4 Vets program provides much-needed, international support for caregivers and veterinarians struggling with an animal’s behavior. We understand how difficult it can be to find the right support, and we’re here to make it easier. This program puts the relationship between caregivers and their primary veterinarians first.

Who is the V4V program for?

  • Pet parents who don’t have access to a Veterinary Behaviorist due to location or other factors
  • Veterinarians who would like to support their patients with behavior challenges
  • Vets and pet parents who would like to collaborate on the pet’s behavior care

What To Expect

Before the Appointment:

Before your veterinary consultation, your Behavior Veterinarian will review your initial history form.  It’s a little long, but the more detailed you are the better your team can support you!   They may have a few brief follow up questions for you during the consultation, however, going into your appointment they will have a thorough picture of your goals and your pet’s history.

Appointment Day Checklist:

Behavior Medications: Give any prescribed behavior medications as directed by your primary vet.
Walking Tools and Muzzles: Bring walking tools or muzzles you currently use or have used in the past.
Medication Bottles: Bring any medication bottles your pet is currently taking.
Favorite Toys: Bring familiar toys to help your pet feel at ease.
Food and Treats: Bring some of your pet’s regular food and favorite treats.
Small Dogs in Carriers: Make sure they wear a leash attached to their collar or harness.

Medical Assessment:

It is important to rule out any underlying medical conditions that could be contributing to behavioral issues. Before your Initial Consult, your Behavior Veterinarian will review all submitted medical records. They will speak with you about your pet’s health and assess if your pet can tolerate a physical exam with minimal fear and stress. If so, your Behavior Veterinarian will do a physical exam and perform any recommended diagnostics, such as laboratory work.

Choosing Treatment:

After the Medical Assessment, your Behavior Veterinarian will make a diagnosis and outline treatment options. These may include medications, supplements, and diet changes, as well as additional diagnostics with your regular vet or a specialist to further rule out medical issues. Every patient and family is different and your Behavior Veterinarian will help guide you to the best treatment options for your family.

After Your Appointment:

You will receive a detailed Treatment Plan.  If you don’t already work with a trainer that we know is capable of working with advanced behavior issues, your Behavior Veterinarian will recommend  you work with one of our Behavior Consultants.

Progress Exams:

Progress Exams are the best way to refine treatment and meet goals.  Meet with your Behavior Veterinarian to assess progress and decide on next steps.  Progress Exam frequency depends on how you decide to work with us.  Generally, more frequent contact leads to faster results!

Graduation:

When you feel you have reached your goals and no longer require our assistance, we will transfer your care back to your primary veterinarian for all future follow-ups.

What happens if I miss my monthly Medical Concierge appointment with my provider?

With the Concierge service, time for your monthly appointment is reserved for you.  Appointments can be rescheduled up to 72 business hours before your scheduled appointment.  Should you be unable to make your appointment for the month, don’t worry; we’ll reschedule it for the following month. Please note missed or rescheduled monthly appointments can’t be carried over to the next month. Attending each appointment promptly is crucial for the quickest and most effective enhancements in your pet’s well-being.  You will need to see your Behavior Veterinarian once yearly in-person to maintain the veterinarian-client-patient relationship.

How does the Medical A La Carte service work?

After your in-person appointment, schedule your telemedicine appointments at least once every 3 months.  Refills, treatment updates and changes, and questions will be managed in real time during your appointments.  Technicians will be available for triage during regular business hours.  See your Behavior Veterinarian in-person once yearly in order to continue treatment.
